I have a standard eBay "No Returns - No Refunds" policy on my auction items because they are kept in extremely good condition (often like new) and are all 'Sold As Seen' (I make a point to provide excellent photographs).
In the exceptional event that I were to agree to the return of an item the conditions listed below would apply:
If the winning bidder is not happy with the item they shall advise me of their desire to return it to me and request a refund within 24 hours of receiving the item. I do not sell items on a 'try before you buy' or short-term rental basis - if the winning bidder uses it, they own it. In other words, once an item has been received it is not reasonable or even fair to attempt to return that item after keeping it for a period exceeding 24 hours as it could easily be marked or damaged during a prolonged process of evaluation or familiarisation. In the event that I agree to the return of an item, the refund shall not be issued until after the item, it's case and/or retail packaging & any included accessories has been successfully returned to me. In the event of a return being agreed and the item returned succesfully, the refund shall be for the value of the item, it's case and/or retail packaging & any included accessories as it stood at the end of the auction (subject to the extra condition below * ) and shall not include any shipping costs. * Any alterations (eg. damage or extra wear) to the condition of the item, it's case and/or retail packaging & any included accessories as it existed at the end of the auction shall be deducted from the refundable value. The winning bidder shall be liable for all costs associated with shipping the item, it's case and/or retail packaging & any included accessories back to me including arranging appropriate levels of compensation insurance to cover loss of or damage to the shipped items. Please be aware that if the all of the above conditions are not met in full then no return will be accepted and no refund will be offered.
